Still trying to figure it all out

Who I am

I’ve held various positions throughout my career, but none of them define who I am. At my core, I am still that outspoken person I've always been who thinks rules are more like suggestions. I refuse to conform and I value the uniqueness of the individual. I stand on my principles, advocate for others and challenge authority when necessary.

As a survivor, I am committed to fighting for equitable healthcare because we ALL deserve access to that. As a nurse, I am dedicated to systemic reform that will allow for the safe delivery of healthcare. After becoming disabled in my mid-twenties, I quickly learned about ableism. I am aware that I have much more to learn on that front. To my friends with disabilities, I welcome your feedback. My work is focused on providing better, more accurate representation as I continue to find ways to raise awareness.

I believe in the healing power of human connection. I am certain that hugs are medicinal. I hope to unite diverse groups by discovering our commonalities and embracing our differences.

I hope one day that love will triumph over hate.

                        * Peace * Love * Unity *
